Huawei EulerOS: CVE-2023-52469: kernel security update Severity 7 CVSS (AV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C) Published 02/26/2024 Created 06/04/2024 Added 06/03/2024 Modified 01/28/2025 Description In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers/amd/pm: fix a use-after-free in kv_parse_power_table When ps allocated by kzalloc equals to NULL, kv_parse_power_table frees adev->pm.dpm.ps that allocated before. However, after the control flow goes through the following call chains: kv_parse_power_table |-> kv_dpm_init |-> kv_dpm_sw_init |-> kv_dpm_fini The adev->pm.dpm.ps is used in the for loop of kv_dpm_fini after its first free in kv_parse_power_table and causes a use-after-free bug. 2. Ubuntu: (CVE-2023-52474): linux vulnerability Severity 7 CVSS (AV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C) Published 02/26/2024 Created 11/21/2024 Added 11/19/2024 Modified 02/11/2025 Description In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/hfi1: Fix bugs with non-PAGE_SIZE-end multi-iovec user SDMA requests hfi1 user SDMA request processing has two bugs that can cause data corruption for user SDMA requests that have multiple payload iovecs where an iovec other than the tail iovec does not run up to the page boundary for the buffer pointed to by that iovec.a Here are the specific bugs: 1. user_sdma_txadd() does not use struct user_sdma_iovec->iov.iov_len. Rather, user_sdma_txadd() will add up to PAGE_SIZE bytes from iovec to the packet, even if some of those bytes are past iovec->iov.iov_len and are thus not intended to be in the packet. 2. user_sdma_txadd() and user_sdma_send_pkts() fail to advance to the next iovec in user_sdma_request->iovs when the current iovec is not PAGE_SIZE and does not contain enough data to complete the packet. The transmitted packet will contain the wrong data from the iovec pages. This has not been an issue with SDMA packets from hfi1 Verbs or PSM2 because they only produce iovecs that end short of PAGE_SIZE as the tail iovec of an SDMA request. Fixing these bugs exposes other bugs with the SDMA pin cache (struct mmu_rb_handler) that get in way of supporting user SDMA requests with multiple payload iovecs whose buffers do not end at PAGE_SIZE. So this commit fixes those issues as well. Here are the mmu_rb_handler bugs that non-PAGE_SIZE-end multi-iovec payload user SDMA requests can hit: 1. Overlapping memory ranges in mmu_rb_handler will result in duplicate pinnings. 2. When extending an existing mmu_rb_handler entry (struct mmu_rb_node), the mmu_rb code (1) removes the existing entry under a lock, (2) releases that lock, pins the new pages, (3) then reacquires the lock to insert the extended mmu_rb_node. If someone else comes in and inserts an overlapping entry between (2) and (3), insert in (3) will fail. The failure path code in this case unpins _all_ pages in either the original mmu_rb_node or the new mmu_rb_node that was inserted between (2) and (3). 3. In hfi1_mmu_rb_remove_unless_exact(), mmu_rb_node->refcount is incremented outside of mmu_rb_handler->lock. As a result, mmu_rb_node could be evicted by another thread that gets mmu_rb_handler->lock and checks mmu_rb_node->refcount before mmu_rb_node->refcount is incremented. 4. Related to #2 above, SDMA request submission failure path does not check mmu_rb_node->refcount before freeing mmu_rb_node object. If there are other SDMA requests in progress whose iovecs have pointers to the now-freed mmu_rb_node(s), those pointers to the now-freed mmu_rb nodes will be dereferenced when those SDMA requests complete. 4. Huawei EulerOS: CVE-2021-46904: kernel security update Severity 5 CVSS (AV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C) Published 02/26/2024 Created 05/10/2024 Added 05/13/2024 Modified 01/30/2025 Description In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hso: fix null-ptr-deref during tty device unregistration Multiple ttys try to claim the same the minor number causing a double unregistration of the same device. The first unregistration succeeds but the next one results in a null-ptr-deref. The get_free_serial_index() function returns an available minor number but doesn't assign it immediately. The assignment is done by the caller later. But before this assignment, calls to get_free_serial_index() would return the same minor number. Fix this by modifying get_free_serial_index to assign the minor number immediately after one is found to be and rename it to obtain_minor() to better reflect what it does. Similary, rename set_serial_by_index() to release_minor() and modify it to free up the minor number of the given hso_serial. Every obtain_minor() should have corresponding release_minor() call. Ubuntu: (Multiple Advisories) (CVE-2024-26603): Linux kernel vulnerabilities Severity 5 CVSS (AV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C) Published 02/26/2024 Created 07/02/2024 Added 07/01/2024 Modified 01/28/2025 Description In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/fpu: Stop relying on userspace for info to fault in xsave buffer Before this change, the expected size of the user space buffer was taken from fx_sw->xstate_size. fx_sw->xstate_size can be changed from user-space, so it is possible construct a sigreturn frame where: * fx_sw->xstate_size is smaller than the size required by valid bits in fx_sw->xfeatures. * user-space unmaps parts of the sigrame fpu buffer so that not all of the buffer required by xrstor is accessible. In this case, xrstor tries to restore and accesses the unmapped area which results in a fault. Debian: CVE-2024-22201: jetty9 -- security update Severity 4 CVSS (AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P) Published 02/26/2024 Created 04/09/2024 Added 04/08/2024 Modified 02/10/2025 Description Jetty is a Java based web server and servlet engine. An HTTP/2 SSL connection that is established and TCP congested will be leaked when it times out. An attacker can cause many connections to end up in this state, and the server may run out of file descriptors, eventually causing the server to stop accepting new connections from valid clients. The vulnerability is patched in 9.4.54, 10.0.20, 11.0.20, and 12.0.6. Solution(s) debian-upgrade-jetty9 References https://attackerkb.com/topics/cve-2024-22201 CVE - 2024-22201 DLA-3780-1

In this case, xrstor tries to restore and accesses the unmapped area which results in a fault. But fault_in_readable succeeds because buf + fx_sw->xstate_size is within the still mapped area, so it goes back and tries xrstor again. It will spin in this loop forever. Instead, fault in the maximum size which can be touched by XRSTOR (taken from fpstate->user_size). 20. Huawei EulerOS: CVE-2023-52474: kernel security update Severity 7 CVSS (AV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C) Published 02/26/2024 Created 06/04/2024 Added 06/03/2024 Modified 01/28/2025 Description In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/hfi1: Fix bugs with non-PAGE_SIZE-end multi-iovec user SDMA requests hfi1 user SDMA request processing has two bugs that can cause data corruption for user SDMA requests that have multiple payload iovecs where an iovec other than the tail iovec does not run up to the page boundary for the buffer pointed to by that iovec.a Here are the specific bugs: 1. user_sdma_txadd() does not use struct user_sdma_iovec->iov.iov_len.
